Destination Highlight: Los Cabos

Visit Los Cabos?  But I have already been to Mexico!” Kelly MacDonald, FHI’s Industry Relations Manager, dissects this common misconception and encourages everyone to visit the highly-rated destination known as Los Cabos.

“As a Canadian we know too well how beautiful and diverse our Country is from coast to coast.  We also know how different each province is from British Columbia to Newfoundland & Labrador.  It would stand to reason that other countries would vary depending on what area you visit.

Something we hear too often from travelers when Los Cabos is recommended as a destination is “But I have already been to Mexico.  I was in Cancun or the Mayan Riviera a few years ago.  I loved it but I want to visit somewhere new.  A totally valid point but just because someone has visited Halifax doesn’t mean they still shouldn’t visit Vancouver.

Los Cabos is a gorgeous and unique destination located on the Baja peninsula on the west coast of Mexico.  Its scenery is reminiscent of Arizona but with the added benefit of the beautiful Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez.  Los Cabos is a golfer’s paradise with numerous top-rated courses with gorgeous views and challenging greens.

For Incentive groups, Los Cabos offers 5-star resorts and many unique offsite tour options.  The famous Lover’s Arch rock formation is easily accessible on a catamaran or glass-bottom boat where you can also glimpse the sea lions sunbathing on the rocks.  Have some culinary enthusiasts?  A trip to Flora Farms where guests can learn farm to table cooking is always a highlight.  Shopping in the colourful town of San Jose del Cabo offers Mexican souvenirs in a village atmosphere with cobblestone streets and quaint churches.  For the art lovers, a trip to Toto Santos is a real treat to visit the numerous galleries surrounded by the beautiful Sierra de la Laguna mountain range.

Looking for that “wow” evening to really indulge your high achievers?  Sunset Monalisa offers a dining experience in an atmosphere with unforgettable sunsets and delicious cuisine.  The mood is set with a ceremonial conch blessing and allows guests to get those Instagram worthy photos of one of the top restaurants in the world.”
