Don’t want to lose your luggage on an upcoming flight? Here’s what you can do to prevent luggage loss!

There’s nothing worse than touching down at your dream destination, going to baggage claim in the airport and realizing your luggage has been lost.

As airports are getting busier again, loss of luggage is becoming an increasingly common problem. A recent data study from the U.S. Department of Transportation found that mishandled baggage complaints are up 200% above pre-pandemic levels. They also reported nearly 220,000 bags listed as “mishandled” in April 2022.

You may ask yourself — How could I prevent this from happening? There are many ways to help prevent loss of luggage, and an increasingly popular option is using an Apple AirTag or similar GPS tracking device. These devices can provide you with regular location updates, meaning you’ll be able to pinpoint where your luggage could be, whether it’s just down the hall or across the country.

It’s also a great idea to do some general checks with your luggage. Start by removing any old flight stickers or tags from your luggage, and then add some high visibility strips to help your luggage stand out from the crowd, and ensure everyone grabs the right bag at baggage claim.
